Short answer
Yes — UVI Falcon works with FL Studio.
UVI currently lists FL Studio as a certified 64-bit DAW for Falcon. Falcon is available as VST and VST3 on Windows, so the most practical choice for a current FL Studio setup is usually the VST3 version.
Falcon formats supported in FL Studio
VST3: supported by Falcon and the preferred modern plugin format for most current FL Studio installations.
VST: also supported by Falcon on Windows.
Standalone: Falcon can run outside a DAW when you want to audition sounds or work independently of FL Studio.
64-bit only: UVI states that Falcon is a native 64-bit instrument.
Windows requirements for Falcon
UVI currently supports Falcon on 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11. The company lists 4 GB RAM as the minimum and recommends 8 GB or more. UVI also recommends a 7,200 rpm drive or SSD for content access.
For practical music production, the minimum is not the same as comfortable headroom. Large presets, layered instruments and a busy FL Studio project can require substantially more CPU and memory than the minimum specification suggests.
Do you need an iLok dongle?
No physical USB dongle is required. Falcon uses iLok licensing, but UVI states that a free iLok account is sufficient. A Falcon license allows up to three activations across supported machines or iLok devices.
Internet access is required for registration and activation. After activation, Falcon can be used offline.
Basic setup flow in FL Studio
1. Install Falcon: complete the UVI installation and license activation first.
2. Open FL Studio: go to the plugin management area and run a plugin scan if Falcon is not already listed.
3. Load the VST3 version: add Falcon as an instrument plugin in your project.
4. Confirm audio and MIDI: play Falcon from your MIDI controller or FL Studio's Piano Roll and verify that audio reaches the Mixer as expected.
5. Save a test project: reopen it once to confirm that the plugin and license recall correctly before building a large session around it.
If Falcon does not appear in FL Studio
First confirm that the 64-bit Falcon plugin was installed and activated successfully. Then rescan plugins inside FL Studio. If Falcon still does not appear, verify that FL Studio is scanning the standard VST3 location and that the operating system meets UVI's current requirements.
Licensing problems and plugin-discovery problems are different issues. If Falcon appears but will not load, check the iLok activation. If it does not appear at all, focus on installation and plugin scanning first.
Does Falcon make sense for an FL Studio user?
It can, especially if your workflow needs deeper sampling, synthesis and sound design than your current instrument collection provides. Falcon can complement FL Studio rather than replace it: FL Studio remains the main sequencing, arranging and mixing environment, while Falcon acts as a deep instrument inside that workflow.
If you mostly use ready-made sounds and already own several capable synths and samplers, check for overlap before buying. The full Falcon guide goes deeper into that decision.
